懷念台灣吐司--Homemade Toast

一直以為麵包是舶來品，沒想到英國的吐司一點都不好吃。

以前在曼城一群好友還會試遍各家廠牌的吐司，給評價。

好不容易找到最接近台灣味的M&S吐司，沒想到M&S降價後，

吐司味道也走了樣。後來吃King' s Mills勉強還可以接受，

但是跟台灣吐司，鬆軟有彈性、又香氣十足這裡乾巴巴的

麵包根本沒的比阿。



忍不住了決定自己來作一條土司試試看，既然我有無敵的

攪拌機阿橘，我想應該試沒有什麼問題。



照了食譜的步驟還特地把麵團移到heater旁邊，深怕發不起來，

沒想到發的很好哩，鬆鬆軟軟的，可惜我沒有吐司的專用模，

拿了磅蛋糕的模型，勉強用一下嚕。



雖然吃起來沒像湯種那麼軟，但是真的還蠻像台灣的吐司了，

剛烤出來那一剎那，房子溢滿吐司的香氣，立刻想到小時候

還寄住在別人家時，每天下午阿母總會陪我在空蕩的房間練琴。

大約三點的時候，開麵包店的鄰居總在那時候慢慢飄出濃郁的

麵包香，阿母總是會跟我說：等練完琴，我們在去買麵包吧！



那時候琴練的不怎麼樣，麵包倒是吃了不少哩。



下次來試試葡萄吐司吧，不過芋頭吐司也不賴！









Homemade Taiwanese toast。

Well, the English toast is really horriable.

Friends in Manchester used to buy differnt brands of

toast, compared the taste. I remembered at that time

M&S's toast was the best. However, since they reduced

the price of the toast, the quality was not as good as it

used to be. What a shame!



I am dying for a real Taiwanese toast. I decided to make

one. Since Kai bought me a real "mixer," I am quite

confident to make a "proper toast."



I still remembered when I was about 8 or 9, we used to live

in my Uncle's factory. We had a real small bedroom for five,

a tiny shower room with a loo. However, we had an enormous

kitchen since it was more like a factory's kitchen. And

of course, a very large living room.



My father bought me a piano. Every afternoon from 2-4 was

my piano practice time. My mother used to sit beside me

go through every piece of music with me. Every day ,

around 3, the smell of fresh baked bread/toast/cakes would

indulge in the air along the road from a nearby bakery. To

encourage me playing music, my mom would always buy me

bread or cake from the bakery when I finished.



Well, I certainly did not play piano very well, but I truly had

a lot of bread at that time.
